Nonverbal Communication.
The process of sending and receiving wordless messages by means of facial expressions, gaze, gestures, postures, and tones of voice is what i call it the nonverbal communication. Actually it is also the oral and nonoral messages expressed by other than linguistic means. It includes the grooming habbits and other paralinguistic features of speech such as voice quality, emotions and speaking styles as well.
So nonverbal communication exists even without understanding speech it is possible to get an idea about how others are feeling either happy, confused or deep in thought. therefore anyway without anyformal experience you were able to recognize and interpret messages that other people sent nonverbally.
Some people are more skillful than others at accurately decoding nonverbal behaviour. Those who are better senders of nonverbal messages also are better receivers. As the ability of decoding increases with age and training, so the most important idea is that when you become aware of non verbal messages, you should think of them not as facts, but rather as clues that need to be checked out.
I see that the nonverbal communication is continuous, it is impossible to not communicate nonverbally. Each of us gives and responds to thousands of nonverbal messages daily in our personal and professional lives and while commuting back and forth between the two. From morning's kiss to business suits and tense-mouth displays at the conference table, we react to wordless messages emotionally, often without knowing why.The boss's head-nod, the clerk's bow tie, the nextdoor neighbor's hairstyle.
There is often a big gap between what people say and what they feel. It is hard nowadays to understand people impressions specially the politicians that play with the words and the facial expressions and we see them smile on the TVs and we don't know what is inside them and that makes the world more complicated and more unsafe. So our job is to observe our partener's behavior and interpret it and know how to deal with it.
